WISE Participates in GEMS Conference

Saturday, March 31, WISE participated in the Girls Excel in Math and Science (GEMS) conference hosted by Plymouth-Canton Community Schools and by Livonia Public. The conference promotes involvement in mathematics and science and promotes an interest in careers related to math and science.

WISE Residence Program students participated in the role model sessions, talking to groups of middle school girls and their parents about choosing math, science and engineering majors, and life at UM and the WISE RP. WISE RP student presenters included Gina Werner, Natalie Estrada, Katelyn Klein, Natasha Pancheo, Cathy Cline, Cassie Pogoda, and Yvonne Franchini.

In addition, WISE provided an information table during the event.
