WISE sponsors MUSES event, "A Gathering of Scholars, Friends and Sisters"

During an event called "An Intimate Gathering," held September 12 at Rackham, the Movement of Underrepresented Sisters in Engineering and the Sciences (MUSES) welcomed eight new graduate members. Students representing a range of departments, from Cellular and Molecular Biology to Industrial and Operations Engineering, shared their personal and collective goals for the year. Highlights of the evening included a presentation of the organization's history and mission and the presentation of pins to new members.

Upcoming events include career development panels and a self-assessment workshop. The group also sponsors a variety of exciting social activities, including horseback riding, a visit to a corn maze and rock climbing. A mentoring component provides undergraduate women, the L'il MUSES, with structured activities as well as role models who offer guidance and support.
