Supplemental Instruction
Supplemental Instruction Sessions are offered jointly by the Women in Science and Engineering Program and the Minority Engineering Program Office. These sessions are  open to all students are conducted  by well-trained graduate students with the cooperation of faculty and graduate student instructors. Supplemental instruction is available for the following courses: Engin 101, Physics 140, Math  240, and ME 211.

The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) creates research partnerships between first and second year students and University of Michigan faculty. Rackham Summer Institute--June 21-August 13
Graduate students from historically underrepresented groups within their academic disciplines who are awarded Rackham Merit Fellowships (RMF), NSF/RMF, GE/RMF, and similar departmental fellowships in doctoral or M.F.A. degree granting programs are invited to participate in the Rackham Summer Institute (SI). The SI program is a voluntary and optional 8-week graduate transition program at the University of Michigan. The goal of SI is to provide newly awarded fellowship recipients in doctoral and M.F.A. programs with a stimulating intellectual, professional, and social transition into graduate school.

Summer Research Opportunity Program(SROP)
The Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) offers outstanding undergraduates underrepresented in their fields the opportunity to participate in intensive research experiences across a variety of disciplines. The goal is to prepare students for advanced studies in a Ph.D. - granting program.
