Summer Camps for Pre-College Students

WISE camps have sparked a passion for STEM in thousands of students for over 15 years. We offer amazing commuter day camps but no overnight programs.

Campers learn from world-class scientists and have a chance to experience our campus. Camps are open to students of any gender identity, designed to encourage and support girls.

Girls in Science and Engineering (GISE) Camp

WISE's long-running summer day camp. Explore the joys and challenges of science and engineering with real scientists in the nation's best research facilities at the UM Ann Arbor campus.

Dates: June 15-19, 2029

Ages: Rising 7th and 8th graders

Python Bootcamp

WISE Python Bootcamp introduces students to programming using Python in a fun and supportive environment led by student experts and industry professionals. The camp is geared towards students with no prior coding experience. 

Dates: June 22-26, 2020

Ages: 8th- 12th graders

Girls in Music and Technology (GiMaT) summer commuter program

The Department of Performing Arts Technology offers a 2 week commuter summer camp on the cutting edge of music technology. Campers use state-of-the-art labs to teach students to make, edit, program, and record their own music.

Dates: June 24 - July 5

Age: 9th-12th grade

Tuition: $900 for the two week program. Need-based funding available through the GiMaT program.


Run by UM's School of Music, Theater & Dance (SMTD) with support from UM WISE Program. 

Electrify Tech Camp

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers 5 commuter summer camps on different topics in engineering.


Sense it - July 6-10

Power up - July 13-17

See it- July 20-24

Nanosize it- July 27-31

Discover ECE - August 3-7

Ages: Students who have completed at least one year of high school.

Tuition: $700 for each camp. Scholarships avaliable.
